Production Planner

Job Description

The 3 main objectives of the production planner are the following:

• Manage information flow and assists in optimizing material flow of Danisco Zaandam to obtain target customer service level at lowest cost and stock risk.
• Organise, supervise, administrate and execute all activities regarding purchasing of chemicals and packaging materials in such a way that continuity of production is warranted at the lowest possible cost in line with SHEQ requirements.
• Take decisions and execute in demand planning, production- and procurement planning.

Responsibilities

• Receives or collects sales forecasts from the distributors monthly
• Supervises forecasts which are provided by master planner as basis for production capacity and procurement planning and continuously monitors adjustments and modifications of demand charges. 
• Establishes worksheets, often based on downloads from SAP
• Carries out all monthly statistics to measure key performance indicators such as OTIF (on-time-in-full) / FA (forecast accuracy), day’s supply (coverage of inventory in days), identifies special problems (cause-analyses), prepares basis for action plans to reduce inventory level of slow-/non-moving items (non-saleable products) and reports proposed improvements to the SOIP-meeting.
• Monitors sales developments vs. forecast, identifies and investigates significant discrepancies.
• Monitors and reviews defined safety stock levels, customer- and product segmentation, changes codes upon approval of market responsibles.
• Plans and coordinates production with "third parties“  toll manufacturing, defines production time and quantity, need of ingredients and supervises the entire process (material- and information flow).
• As a member of the SOIP-meeting assists with problems related to sudden unexpected significant demand changes creating shortages in the supply chain.
• Defines, as a member of the SOIP-meeting, demand schedule for strategic raw materials long term planning (guar splits and guar powder) for the international lead buyer, business manager procurement and plant manager. Takes care of a weekly overview.
• Takes care of continuous branch expertise through regular activities in the field of supply chain management.
• Analyses the monthly operation report for the production manager.
• Executes Danisco Zaandam’s weekly production planning and production planning meeting. Checks daily sales order book and translates it into the weekly production planning.
• Takes care of the daily procurement and import activities together with the assistant-purchaser and keeps the department going during holidays and replacements.

Requirements

• MBO + / HBO working and thinking proven by experience or qualifications;
• Fluent knowledge of Dutch and English,  additional language is an advantage;
• You have the ability to oversee processes
• You are stress resistant and flexible. 
• Good communication skills
• Proficient in data analysis
• Knowledge of SAP (ERP) and MS Office
