Job Description

Position Overview
The primary purpose of this role is to manage, organise and control all activities associated with the company’s Quality Assurance programs, Quality Control laboratories and continuous improvement programs for Oceania.  Achieving and maintaining global Quality Accreditation programs (HACCP, ISO9001,ISO14001,Kosher and any other future requirements in accreditations and certifications) is a key requirement. This position is within the Operations team, located in Zhaoqing and reporting directly to the Plant Manager.
Key responsibilities will include:
Quality systems & continuous improvement
•    Establish, implement, and maintain QMS to manage product quality & process quality on quality KPI’s.
•    Drive key continuous improvement projects within Quality department and Plant
•    Drive reduction of external & internal deviation by leading teams through root cause analysis, preventative action set up & self- improvement.
•    Manage quality audits from third party, customer, and government. Lead internal audits and vendor audits.
•    Coordinate quality training, cascade down quality & continued improvement mindset to working level.  
•    SOP review & approval
Product safety, legal & corporate compliance 
•    Ensure Food Safety of products & process by implementing relevant legal and corporate requirements (e.g., HACCP, Kosher), and by continuous verification on effectiveness of the installed systems.
•    Maintain quality related license as required by regulatory requirements.
•    Coordinate with global and regional quality/GRA managers to manage & support relevant projects/ functions.
Analysis
•    Manage internal lab and contract lab to ensure all relevant properties (sensory, chemical, physical, microbiological) of raw materials, packaging materials, semi-finished and finished products in accordance with legislation and technical requirements.
•    Manage QA/QC team by coordinating goals setting for direct reports, regularly coaching, and supervising their activities, and evaluating their performance. 
•    Continuously improve capability of quality team by setting up and implementing personal development plan.
•    Provide quality and technical document/support to relevant departments on customer request, new product/packaging development, supplier quality management, process optimization etc.
Talent Management
•    Manage QA/QC team by coordinating goals setting for direct reports, regularly coaching, and supervising their activities, and evaluating their performance. 
•    Continuously improve capability of quality team by setting up and implementing personal development plan.
•    Setup succession plan for all QA/QC persons at site. 

Job Requirements

What you will need to be successful:
•    Bachelor or above Degree in Science, Food Technology, Pharm or related field.
•    15+ years or more experience in Flavors/ Food/Pharm processing industries.
•    Comprehensive knowledge related to flavour raw material market, sensory, food standard, formulas, processing, and application and customer knowledge. 
•    Good knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety regulations & laws
•    Strong knowledge & sense of cost
•    Deep product knowledge and a proven track record 
•    Strong cross-functional team leadership and interpersonal communication skills
•    Value added driver.
